Review/Giveaway: Autistic Hero TeeShirts

Autistic Hero TeeShirts is a company run by a husband and wife team with their 14 year old son as the artist. Their son, Jake Soper, is autistic. For the past couple of years, he has been doodling and drawing anime type drawings of Super heroes, side kicks and villains. As a shy boy, his family loved seeing his imagination expressed so vividly through his drawings.

Jake draws the images, while his mother cleans up the image, brings them to life with color and edits where is needed to be able to produce the image on a t-shirt. His mother brands, produces, advertises, designs and maintains the website, marketing and shipping.

The mission of Autisic Hero TeeShirts is supporting creative and entrepreneurial effort in the autisic community.

They are a FOR-PROFIT clothing brand with a charitable aspect. The artist (Jake Soper) recieves $1.00 for every shirt sold.  In addition, $1.00 is donated to charitable causes. I tried to do some research on the company and which specific charities the donated money actually goes to, but I could not find anything on the website explaining that.

Ranging in price from $19.99 to $49.99, you can choose between a children's onsie, t shirt, long sleeve and sweater.

I received a few shirts for myself, and some for my daughters to try out. The shirts are your typical cotton t-shirts, and are holding up well to real life use.

I have worn them, washed them a few times and they have not lost color or size.

Overall, they withstood a 5 year old and a 3 year old wearing them with no issues besides sizing (Unfortunately, the children's shirts that were sent turned out to be too small for mine, so I'll be passing those on to another child soon.). The sizing is Youth small, medium and large, and Adult Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large -. for me, as a smaller woman, the small was pretty big!

Autistic Hero is offering a child's Tee-Shirt with a crab design on it to one US winner - read on to see how you can enter to win!

  1. Thank you for your review. We will look to better inform customers of where our charitable donations go.

In the past we have donated to:
    Kulture City &
The Nazr Mahammed Foundation "All in for Autism 2015" and continue to be big fans and financial supporters of Kulture City.

In terms of sizing - our adult t-shirts are standard sized and unisex where noted. So a small unisex shirt is not a woman's small.

We have sold almost a thousand shirts of all kinds and have had NO other complaints about children's sizing. We sent a random assortment of shirts for review and apologize if they did not fit your children.

Thank so much again for your review and your notes and hope to hear from your fans about our fun give a way!

Our old blogs posts had our charitable contributions posted and Facebook discusses them too, but the blog timed out and we will correct that.

    1. Thank you so much for offering some details on the charities you support - we love when companies include an element of giving back! It would be very interesting to be able to read about them on your site.

;) The shirts look great - the vibrant colors and your son's drawings make for a really fun combo!
