Review and Giveaway: Travelon bags

As the company name suggests, Travelon sells a wide variety of travel ready bags and accessories, designed to make traveling easier and safer, without giving up style.

While deciding which Travelon handbag I would review, I emailed back and forth with Annette Migala, the Travelon marketing and social media coordinator, who was such a wealth of information.

Annette asked what type of bag I thought our readers would like to know about, then made great suggestions with a few features that sparked my imagination. So I think to myself: what a wonderful world - now, where can I travel?

While waiting for the items Annette suggested, I continued to search Travelon.com for more info - I found Youtube videos, details on the features and benefits for the many bags they offer, and all the other fantastic accessories to make travel easy.  They solve problems I never even thought about, and many of their solutions are ingenious.

I never knew I would be excited about a tooth brush. Travelon has a travel ready toothbrush where the tooth paste lives in the handle and deposits the perfect amount when ready to brush! What! So cool. You have to check out the Travelon site to see all they have to offer!

When the pair of bags I would be reviewing arrived about a week later, I was excited to have the pleasure to try them out - they were both impressive!

The first handbag I experienced was the Anti-Theft Classic Slouch Hobo, item 42857. I chose to get it in berry. I wanted to see how the color compared with what I saw online. Keep in mind that monitor settings can affect what you see and what you get. I was very happy to see that the handbag I received seems to match perfectly.

The Travelon site explains the Anti-Theft Classic Slouch Hobo features a locking main compartment and two zippered pockets. The main compartment can hold a tablet and includes an organizer for 5 credit cards and a passport.

The RFID blocking technology in the slots prevents identity theft by blocking readers from picking up personal data on any RFID emitting cards. The front features a quick grab phone pocket as well as two zippered pockets that hold items you need on hand. The back slash pocket snaps closed for easy access. There is also a tethered key clip with an LED light.

This video is an awesome visual for how travel easy, and theft proof this handbag is:

The Anti-Theft Classic Slouch Hobo is made of polyester. It is lightweight, water and stain resistant. This is great for travel. It is available in 5 colors, and retails for $72.

When I solicited opinions from co-workers they liked the color, but not the fabric. When I explained all the features and benefits they liked it more. I wish the same technology could be applied to a more sophisticated day to day look, like a leather or canvas. Either way, I rocked the berry Anti-Theft Classic Slouch Hobo like none other.

That is until I was rockin' the Convertible Crossbody Duffel, item 42818. I love this little guy. I got the Convertible Crossbody in black.

This bag is 2 bags in 1: crossbody bag and duffel. You can use it as a travel bag and expand to duffle when extra capacity is needed. The cross body has 2 zip compartments and 2 zip pockets which are accessible when in duffel mode, as it becomes the front face of the duffel. The adjustable padded shoulder strap is removable, though is very comfortable, so I kept it on. This cross body/duffel is made of lightweight, stain and water resistant ripstop.

Where I live in California, one is charged for a paper bag (plastic is a big no no), or you need to bring your own.

I have gotten good at bringing my reusable bags to the car, and sometimes I even remember to bring them in the store with me. now with this convertible bag, I'm all set!

This has a sporty feel to it, so thought the material is similar to the hobo crossbody, it is more aesthetically pleasing for the day to day.

Before I even got this bag, I was explaining it to one of the girls at work, and she told me based on the description alone, she wanted one! This 2 in 1 beauty retails for $45, and comes in 4 colors

You know you want one, too! And Travelon is giving you a chance! See below for details of the giveaway!

I'm sure you'll love your Travelon bags as much as I do!  You can purchase Travelon bags and accessories directly from their website, as well as at several other venues, including Amazon.

  2. I have one of their anti-theft crossbody bags I bought a few years back - it has the theft-deterrent straps, the zippered sections that can be held closed to stop pickpocketing and the really conveniently placed pockets for cell, etc, so you can grab phone, boarding passes and all without fumbling. I love it because it actually lays across the body snuggly (some crossovers 'bounce' against my hip - I'm disabled so that can't happen!). The fabric IS more on the sporty side but for me that's a feature - it's survived things other fabrics wouldn't and the purse still looks new and as far as I can tell, is utterly indestructible. LOVE this review - you remind me to go see what other goodies they have!

  10. I think the Cosmetic Organizer Travel Case is amazing! I have a hard time keeping my toiletries and cosmetics organized when travelling. I also have a hard time packing, because I always pack too much, but that's just because I would rather be over prepared.

  30. I love the anti-theft hobo you have reviewed in this post -- it looks like the perfect size. I always have a hard time finding the right size purse to carry when I travel that's big enough to carry additions like a camera but not too big. I like the added security on the anti-theft line--I actually purchased a smaller bag from the line, but I can't fit all I need in it!
