A
picture can be worth a thousand words, even if it’s a picture of only seven
words. At Soundwave Art, you get to capture the simplest essence of any sound.
You can turn your words, a heartbeat, the sound of laughter; you name it - into
a beautiful piece of art to treasure forever.
The
hardest part when I was ordering one of these gems of my own, was decided what
to say! I had many ideas in my head. How about recite part of my wedding vows?
Or maybe record the chorus of my daughter’s favorite Disney song. At the time,
we had recently discovered that baby number two was on the way so we
collectively decided that it would be nursery décor, followed by the decision
that it should be a message from soon to be big sister, my daughter Hailey.
After a little more deliberation, the final verdict was her excitedly
exclaiming that she was going to be a big sister!
The second most difficult part was the recording. This is not to point anything bad on the company’s part. First I had some microphone issues and it wasn’t properly recording. I will note that they created a special link for me so that I was taken straight to the ordering, so there could have been a malfunction that ‘normal’ customers should never run into.

Then, getting a four-year old to start when I point to her (So it didn’t pick up me saying ‘go’) was beyond challenging. I would easily say we did about 5 takes before submitting. Thankfully there was a rerecord button, and we weren’t stuck with the first one we tried. I remember thinking; I wish I could play this back; to make sure it got it.
Or,
that I could see a visual of what the soundwave looks like using that phrase (the
picture you see is just a sample to choose colors.)
On this page, I also got to choose what color the background of canvas, as well as the soundwave itself were going to be. It makes it completely customizable!

Unfortunately,
a day or so later I heard back that my order came through, however it appeared
my microphone was turned down somehow, despite my checking it. As annoying as that
was, Mike sent me a link to a ‘rerecord’ page. I just had to put in my order
number he gave me to have all other info stay the same. I just had to
rerecord the message. My daughter was quite happy to get to do it again!
This
time, while recording, the soundwave itself was showing up, which told me that
sound was going through, and also gave me an idea it would look like (the one
you are seeing in the picture was a test, and not my actual message)
Additionally, I could actually audibly ‘play back’ to make sure it is what it
is supposed to say. When I told him of this, he said the first order page should
have look like that as well, and may have been something I missed out on due to
the special page they created for this review.
The
last thing I asked before submitting my order was about a caption for the
soundwave. I noticed on their Facebook that a customer asked if this was
possible and they said it was.
He told me that although it isn’t a usual practice, and not an option listed on their website, he is happy to do so if a customer asks it of them. He just asked that I type it out exactly as I would like it displayed on the canvas.

It
took about a week for it to ship out to me, and another three days to arrive. I
was very happy with how fast it all went! It arrived in a large cardboard
canvas shaped box, and was wrapped in padding. The canvas wasn’t at all
damaged, and looked even better than I expected.
We
chose a vibrant red and white to match the Dr. Seuss themed nursery we will be
creating. I think it is going to look great with the rest of the décor!
I
absolutely love this concept, and the final product. Furthermore, they had some
of the best customer service from start to finish! I think this makes for wonderful
home décor, conversation pieces, and most of all gifts! I have many more in
mind I will be ordering over time!

I'm not sure what words I'd like to say, but I'd like it to be something my husband and I could say together (or one after the other). I like the various colors in the gallery - thinking either a blend of dark and pale green or maybe white on a black background.
