Scrawlrbox Art Supplies Subscription Box - Review/Giveaway

Back to school season is nearly upon us and that makes me a happy camper!

One of my favorite things about getting my daughter ready for going back to school is buying a brand new set of pens and a nice clean notebook just for me. It feels like a fresh start.

I don't have a particular plan for these items. I just like having them. They are my Tabula Rasa or Blank Slate. I hold in my hand nothing but possibilities.

When I was in high school I used to love to sketch with pencil, pen or charcoal.

Over the years, I've stopped sketching but the desire for a creative outlet is always there.

I think that is why I love the idea of a blank page.

I was recently the recipient of a subscription box called Scrawlrbox, which is a monthly sub box of art supplies.

When the box arrived I felt that blank slate excitement just holding it in my hand. Contained inside were items just for me, to unleash my creativity.

I was both intimidated and excited about receiving this box. I hadn't drawn in many years.

Would I be able to make use of the items in the box to give them a proper review?

 My apprehension continued as I opened it. Once I did though, I had to laugh out loud! It was as if the curators of this particular box knew what was in my head.

Contained inside was a small adult coloring book, a box of beautifully bright colored pencils, two double ended vibrant markers, a double ended black lining pen and a glitter brush pen.

The adult coloring book was both a blank slate and a guided tour. It was the promise of creativity without the burden of not knowing what to draw. It was perfect to get me back in the swing of sketching.

There were also a couple of blank pages inside and a suggestion to use the lining pen to create your own coloring page. I used one to test out the color and quality of the pencils and pens.

The pencils were much nicer than my daughters crayolas, blending together with smooth transitions without obvious scribbles.

The markers had both a fine tip and a bold tip were incredibly bright.

It was clear that these were all items that would be appreciated by both the highly skilled and the novice artist.

Scrawlrbox is based in the UK but they will ship to all countries. Their subscription is available on a monthly basis and can be gifted.

The price is £15 (pounds sterling) plus £5 to cover international shipping fees. Conversion rates are available on their web page. Currently £15 is almost $20 USD.

I feel that the price is totally worth it as the items I received in my box were valued at well over $20 when combined. You also have the option to purchase previous months boxes while they are still available at a price of £17.
