Review & Giveaway: Buttons Diapers

When Mischief was about six months old, I made a switch to cloth diapers. It turned out to be a great decision for our family both for our pocketbook and Mischief's butt. It was no question, then, that Charlotte would be in cloth from the start. Even though I had a full stash of pocket style diapers from Mischief, some did need replacement. In replacing these, I have been on the search for other styles of diapers, mostly concentrating on AI1 (All in 1) and AI2 (All in 2) types.

Imagine my delight then, coming across Buttons Diapers. Buttons Diapers is an AI2 style diaper system of covers and snap in inserts. The covers are one size, fitting babies approximately from 9-35 pounds while the inserts come in two sizes, small (9-20 pounds) and large (20-35 pounds). The inserts have two styles, regular daytime inserts and nighttime doublers which snap in between the cover and the daytime insert. You can choose between microfiber and a hemp/cotton blend for the inserts as well.

When I got my diaper and insert in the mail, I couldn't help but hear Julie Andrews singing in my head. Inside the shipping envelope, the cover, insert, and informational card were in a lovely brown paper package tied up with string. That alone had me smiling and eagerly anticipating the diaper within!

The diaper cover I had chosen was Acres ($12.50), a farmyard style print that had me instantly thinking of my home state of Wisconsin with its bright red barns, adorable dairy cows, chickens, and chicks, and green tractors (which the Mister was very appreciative of).

One of my favorite features of the cover is the double gusset, which definitely helps to contain messes and avoid bombs.

The cover also features elastic not only at the back, but on the front as well, which helps to create a perfect fit on baby. The snaps are strong, but not so much that undoing them is difficult for me.

The large size microfiber insert ($3.50) is so very soft and fluffy! It snaps right in to the cover at the front and back, which keeps it secure even as Charlotte squirms, wriggles, and crawls about. It is also very absorbent and keeps her bottom soft and dry.

Although it is supposed to be a daytime insert, she once fell asleep early while wearing it, and there were no leaks even overnight!

Overall, I am very fond of Buttons Diapers diaper system, and I know I'm definitely getting more inserts so I can change them and keep the super adorable cover on Charlotte longer!
